Do you want to merge your Roadrunner email account on outlook 2010 or 13 using IMAP account type? If yes, then we are going to frame some steps which you will find useful for configuring the RR on outlook.
The steps to configure RR on Outlook 2010 or 2013 using IMAP are:
- Launch Outlook 2010. If you are opening this program for the first time, then you will notice a startup screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your email on the program. If you don’t find startup screen, click on ‘File’ tab.
- Go to ‘Info’ page.
- Click on ‘Add a new account’. A new screen will be opened on your computer.
- Click on ‘Manually configure server settings or server types’.
- Click ‘Next’.
- Tap on ‘Internet email’.
- Tap ‘Next’. Now, a settings window will be opened on the screen with POP3 account type settings displayed.
- You need to change the account type to IMAP from POP3.
- Enter the name you wish to display on the sent mail screen.
- Enter the complete email address of your Roadrunner email account.
- Now, you have to enter the email addresses for your incoming as well as outgoing servers.
- Enter TWC email address again in the username field.
- Enter the password.
- Click on ‘Remember password’ option, if you want your computer to enter the password itself. You don’t need to add password again and again.
- You can now go to your email from outlook program.
- However, if your computer is accessed by a number of persons in your home, then your account can be easily logged in through them.
- Don’t select the option which says, ‘Require login using secure password authorization’.
- Go to More settings.
- Go to outgoing server tab.
- Click on the box which says, ‘Require SMTP authentication’.
- Tap on the option where you find ‘Use same settings for incoming mail server’.
- Go to ‘Advanced’ tab.
- Enter the incoming as well as outgoing mail server port numbers.
- Don’t forget to tick on ‘SSL’ enable option. With this security, you can secure the mail from server to client end.
- For outgoing server, use TLS or use the encrypted connection available in the drop-down list.
- Don’t change the port number of the outgoing mail server. If changed by mistake, then clear it to default settings.
- Click ‘OK’. This will open the internet mail settings page.
- Click to test the IMAP configuration. You need to open the test settings window. Here, you will find a successful message on screen which means that IMAP is successfully configured on Outlook 2010 or 2013.
- If the account doesn’t get successfully installed, then over to ‘More’ and check the mail server and port settings both for outgoing as well as for incoming servers.
- Close the opened window and click to finish the configuration wizard.
Check if the email you added is displaying on the left-hand side of the outlook window or not. If it appears, then it means your account is successfully added. In case of any problem, you can contact RR email support.
